  • Ask questions: Encourage viewer interaction
  • Use reactions: Pin top comments, heart viewer messages

Monitor Performance:

  • Track peak viewer count
  • Watch average watch time
  • Monitor reactions (Like, Love, Wow, etc.)
  • Check comment rate and sentiment
  • Review share count (viral potential)

Post-Stream:

  • Save video to timeline (VOD)
  • Download for repurposing
  • Respond to post-live comments

Troubleshooting Common Issues

  • Verify server number and stream key are correct (no extra spaces)
  • Check RTMP URL format: rtmp://pstnetserverNUMBER.shoutcastnet.com/live
  • Ensure firewall allows RTMP traffic (port 1935)
  • Test internet upload speed (minimum 6 Mbps for 4000 kbps stream)
  • Restart your encoder application
  • Contact support if server appears inactive or suspended

  • Wait 15-30 seconds: Facebook needs time to recognize your stream
  • Stream key expired: Facebook generates new keys per live session - get a fresh one
  • Wrong destination: Verify you copied the key from correct Profile/Page/Group
  • Content violations: Check if account has streaming restrictions
  • Click "Go Live": In Live Producer, you must click the button after stream connects
  • Privacy settings: Ensure privacy allows live streaming
  • Mobile data: Check stream on different network/device

  • Lower bitrate: Try 3000 kbps or 2500 kbps
  • Reduce resolution: Stream at 540p (960x540) instead of 720p
  • Frame rate: Use 30fps (Facebook optimized for 30fps)
  • Encoder preset: Switch to "Veryfast" or "Ultrafast"
  • Network: Use wired ethernet instead of WiFi
  • Upload bandwidth: Close other apps using internet
  • ISP throttling: Check if ISP limits streaming bandwidth
  • Test markets: Quality may vary by viewer location

  • 8-hour limit: Personal profiles have 8-hour max (restart stream after)
  • Content violation: Automated systems may stop streams for policy violations
  • Network instability: Check for packet loss or connection drops
  • Encoder crash: Monitor encoder for errors or overload
  • Facebook outage: Check Facebook status page for platform issues
  • Key expired: Generate new stream key if connection repeatedly fails
  • CPU overload: Reduce encoder load with lower preset/resolution

  • Sample rate: Set all audio to 48 kHz (Facebook requirement)
  • Sync offset: Settings → Advanced → Audio Sync Offset in OBS
  • Audio filters: Disable unnecessary audio processing plugins
  • Multiple sources: Avoid mixing different audio devices
  • Buffer size: Adjust audio buffer in encoder settings
  • Keyframe interval: Set to exactly 2 seconds (Facebook requirement)
  • Driver updates: Update audio interface drivers

  • Announce beforehand: Post about upcoming live stream 30+ minutes before
  • Enable notifications: Ensure followers get notified when you go live
  • Engaging title: Use attention-grabbing, clear titles with emojis
  • First 3 minutes: Engage immediately - algorithm prioritizes early engagement
  • Share link: Post live stream link to Stories, other platforms
